The Lubbock Christian
High football team has captured the first state title in school history by beating district foe Muenster Sacred Heart for
the TAPPS DIV State Championship at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco. The Eagles finished a Perfect Season racking up many team
and indiviudal accolades. Led by Senior 2,000 yard rusher Ryan Hayes, LCHS used a high octane offense to outscore all
comers. On the flip side the Eagle defense (THE X-Factor) recorded four straight shutouts to begin the
2004 campaign. Led by senior linebackers Nick Quigley and Nick Johnson opposing teams averaged a slim 200 yards
of total offense on the season. The"Gick's" were solid all year battling through injuries while racking in
all-state honors.
