The Lubbock Christian High football team has captured the first state title in school history by beating district foe Muenster Sacred Heart for the TAPPS DIV State Championship at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco. The Eagles finished a Perfect Season racking up many team and indiviudal accolades. Led by Senior 2,000 yard rusher Ryan Hayes, LCHS used a high octane offense to outscore all comers. On the flip side the Eagle defense (THE X-Factor) recorded four straight shutouts to begin the 2004 campaign. Led by senior linebackers Nick Quigley and Nick Johnson opposing teams averaged a slim 200 yards of total offense on the season. The"Gick's" were solid all year battling through injuries while racking in all-state honors.
